Everyone wants to know if the down economy has been affecting other businesses the same way. Without going into specific numbers, I thought I’d share a graph of ArrowQuick’s net revenue (after cost of sales) over the last year.

Here you can see revenue for ArrowQuick’s two main areas of business (IT and web), as well as the total. Our month-to-month revenue usually jumps around a lot, depending on the projects we’re working on, but I can identify some overall points of interest:
Slowdown. Starting August 2008, business slowed or went flat, and generally stayed that way.
End-of-Year Boost. We typically have a rush of business at the end of each year, and luckily 2008 wasn’t an exception.
March Anomaly. We moved billing systems in March/April 2009, so March’s numbers were inconsistently high as we closed out some books. The actual revenue was closer to the surrounding months.
Revival. Business started picking up around mid-summer 2009, with a remarkable improvement last month.
It’s still too early to say if the situation will continue to improve. We have definitely been fielding more sales calls and requests since the end of July. It’s a good indicator that corporate tech spending is returning to pre-recession levels, and hopefully the rest of the economy as well.
How does your last 12 months compare to ArrowQuick’s? Are you seeing an improvement in sales? Are you spending more on technology and other vendors? Post your thoughts below.
