1. Verify that your Antivirus software is, running, has a valid subscription and is downloading recent updates.
2. Never open an email attachment from a sender you do not recognize or any sales email that you did not personally request.
3. Run Microsoft Update daily to install the latest patches for Windows XP or Windows 2000.
4. Ensure that your office or home has either a hardware firewall or use the Windows firewall software.
