How Expensive Is Your Email?
Email is one of those things that almost every business relies on, to a point that it is ubiquitous in our working lives. But do you know how much it is costing you?
Email is one of those things that almost every business relies on, to a point that it is ubiquitous in our working lives. Research firm Forrester released a report on the topic earlier this month, after surveying businesses and vendors on their email solutions.

Down the Drain
Surprisingly, many companies had no idea what their per-user cost was. Most people guessed it was under $10 per month, but Forrester came up with an average of about $25 per month (per user).
It can be tricky to assess cost, especially when you have to factor in everything from software licenses, to hardware maintenance, to the salaries of support staff. Include lost productivity from spam and email viruses, and you can see how such a simple service can balloon into a big price tag.
Forrester’s ultimate recommendation is to utilize a hosted, off-site solution. This is a trend that we at ArrowQuick have seen as well, as more companies look to outsource these services while maintaining the performance and security from an in-house solution. In fact, Forrester finds that companies with up to 15,000 employees can still see a cost savings by moving to a hosted solution.
ArrowQuick provides both hosted email solutions as well as consulting support for in-house solutions. Is your system costing you too much money?
